Ex-teacher’s aide in Mansfield gets 7 years for having sex with student

A former Mansfield teacher’s aide who admitted having sex with a female high school student in his classroom was sentenced Thursday to seven years in prison. Kashann Jemar Simmons, 40, who was also volunteer football coach at Mansfield Timberview High School, apologized to the family of his victim and to his own for the pain he put them through. Then Simmons said he will never do anything else that would land him in state District Judge Louis Sturns’ courtroom again. Then he was taken to jail.
