Former Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office recruiter accused of smuggling drugs into jail is arrested

A former Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office recruiter was arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle drugs into the Orleans Justice Center. According to the OPSO, 33-year-old Courtney Wicker was arrested following an investigation by the OPSO Investigative Services Bureau. Wicker was hired at the OPSO in April 2023 as a deputy recruit assigned to the Orleans Justice Center. OPSO investigators said Wicker allegedly acknowledged delivering Suboxone Sublingual Film to a detainee in December 2023 in exchange for $2,000.
