Michael David Shugart Jr., 35, teacher at Little Cypress Junior High School [Little Cypress Mauriceville CISD], Orange, Texas, "improper relationship between educator and student" Orange County Sheriff's Office Press Release: Former LC Junior High Teacher Indicted for Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student (Dec 12 2012) On Tuesday September 4, 2012 the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the Administration at the Little Cypress Mauriceville ISD concerning an Improper Relationship between Educator and Student. The alleged incident involves a student at Little Cypress- Mauriceville High School and an employee at the Little Cypress Junior High School.The Orange County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and Investigators obtained information from school district officials and students about the alleged offense. Investigators conducted the investigation into the alleged incident. LCMISD said the teacher had only been employed with the District for 16 days and resigned after the information surfaced.Once the investigation was complete, the case was turned over to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office for review and disposition.On December 12, 2012 this case was presented to the Orange County Grand Jury. As a result, MICHAEL DAVID SHUGART JR., W/M, age 35, was indicted for Improper Relationship between Educator and Student which is a 2nd Degree Felony offense.On December 13, 2012, Michael David Shugart Jr. turned himself in at the Orange County Correctional Facility. Beaumont Enterprise: Former LC-M teacher indicted on charge of improper relationship (Dec 13 2012) Michael David Shugart Jr., 35, was indicted Wednesday on a charge of improper relationship with a student, according to information from Sgt. Chad Hogan of the Orange County Sheriff's Office. Hogan said Shugart turned himself in to the Orange County Correctional Facility on Thursday. Shugart's bond was set at $5,000.
