CBS Local Detroit: Fraser Teacher Busted In Alleged Drug Deal (Mar 26 2012) On Monday, Roseville police were called to Masonic and Kelly Road on a possible drug deal in progress. Police said they saw Austin and a Fraser man named Jason Tassie talking before Austin followed Tassie into the parking lot of the school. Detectives said they then saw Tassie hand Austin hydrocodone, a painkiller. Both men were arrested.

According to prosecutors, detectives also found inappropriate non-pornographic images of suspected minors, both male and female, as well as text messages that were sexual in nature that appeared to involve minors, and two pornographic videos, one featuring a minor. Prosecutors say an investigation revealed 12 people seen in images on Austin’s phone were underage students currently enrolled within the Fraser School District.

The information was based on evidence collected from the defendant’s phone and home that police collected using three search warrants obtained after Austin’s arrest this past March. Austin created an online persona through Facebook of a beautiful young woman named Julie. The Facebook page contained sensual pictures of “Julie.” “Under the pretense of being Julie, (Austin) convinced numerous minor boys, including former students, to photograph their genital and pubic areas and send the images to ‘Julie.’ (Austin) used his cellular phone to communicate with the minors through Facebook and text messages,” Roth wrote in court papers.

Oakland Press: Former Fraser teacher going to federal prison for 15 years in child porn case (Aug 15 2013) A former Fraser Public Schools teacher was sentenced Wednesday to 15 years in federal prison for tricking teenage boys into sending him nude photographs of themselves. Gregory F. Austin, 33, of Chesterfield Township, received the sentence from U.S. Judge Arthur Tarnow in Detroit for three counts of production of child pornography. Austin faces five years of supervised release after he gets out of prison. The sentence was the minimum term set by Congress for the charge but fell below the sentencing guideline range of 27 years to 33 years and nine months. U.S. Attorney Matthew Roth asked for the 27-year term.
