ABC 24: Juveniles Testify in Sheffield Teacher's Sex Abuse Case (Jan 10 2012) Five boys told a Shelby County judge a Sheffield High School teacher tried to pay them for sex. The boys testified at a hearing for Darrin Miller on January 10, 2012. The case will now go before the grand jury. The five teens had nearly identical stories to how they were approached, and they all accused Miller. "He had a dildo in his mouth," one victim testified. "He pulled out a dildo and started sucking it," said another victim. Again, a third victim testified, "While he was doing that, he was sucking on a dildo." All five boys, ages 13 to 17, told the judge they were stopped by a man in a purple car on their way to school.
WCM TV: Former Sheffield teachers accused of crimes against kids (Jan 14 2012) Five teens who accused Miller of trying to lure them into his car testified. They all pointed at Miller as the man who approached them on their walk to school on different occasions. Each said they either ran off or Miller drove off when they rejected his advances. They all described his dark purple car and say he pulled up, told them what he wanted to do to them, and asked them to get in his car. Some said he offered cash. A Melrose High School student said it happened just feet from the school while a 14-year-old Hamilton Middle School student said he was "scared." A 15-year-old Sherwood Middle School student said Miller approached him on two occasions and 13-year-old Hamilton Middle School student said Miller kept telling him to "get in the car." One teen said Miller also approached him twice. The first time, he saw a "little kid" at Miller's car. He said he asked the boy why he looked frightened and the boy wouldn't say. Then, he said Miller made a U-turn pulled up to him and told him he had a nice physique.
Commercial Appeal: No bond reduction for former Memphis City Schools teacher in sex case (Aug 13 2012) A former Memphis City Schools teacher charged with soliciting students for sex lost a bid Monday to have his $200,000 bond reduced. Criminal Court Judge James Beasley Jr. called the charges against Darrin Miller "very disturbing" and said there was no reason to lower the bond, especially because he is a teacher and the charges involve children.

Judge rules former Memphis teacher who propositioned teens will be sent back to prison A former Memphis teacher who received probation after pleading guilty to multiple counts of sexual solicitation of minors in 2012 was back in court Wednesday for allegedly sending a tweet to his court-appointed therapist despite being forbidden from accessing the Internet. Criminal Court Judge James Beasley ruled that Darrin Miller, 27, violated his probation and would be sent back to prison to serve the remainder of his sentence.
