Investigation report is out, not much there. But it does confirm the women had been drinking (duh) and that the student was [removed identifying characteristics]. Also, that the crime went on from 9:00pm to 6:00am. Oh the stamina of youth! For those interested, the actor [removed identifying characteristics] would come to mind if you were to see the kid. Good looking kid, but that doesn't excuse these women by a long shot. No doubt the kid had a great time, and before this story went viral internationally, I'm sure he did plenty of strutting and got his share of high fives. But I'm guessing that by now he's beginning to grasp that these women weren't doing him any favors, and that this is a much bigger deal that is impacting a lot of people and that it will be hanging over him for a long time to come. Just because he had fun doesn't mean it wasn't emotionally / mentally scarring on the kid.

I think it's interesting that Respess made comments to the cops while Dufresne didn't. Her father's influence is showing. All we know about Dufresne is that she's under house arrest and only able to leave for "continued intensive mental health treatment", doctors appointments and church. Yes, of course, a pious church going woman tormented and misguided by mental illness...Is it just me, or is her defense strategy already taking shape. One wonders if she was undergoing her "continued intensive mental health treatment" before she started shuttling her new boy toy around to her les-b-friend for group sex, or only after she was caught doing so?

Even if the kid was above the age of consent for that state, he was still a minor, and they were still adults in a position of power and influence over the kid. Think of how his parents felt when they discovered unbeknownst the them that their son had been secreted away over night to an apartment by these two conspiring adults for the singular purpose of them using this kids body to satisfying their sexual needs. As a parent, it's offensive. It's doubly more offensive as a parent that the instigator was a 32 year old teacher they'd placed their trust in. It's exponentially more offensive as a parent that another teacher they had also placed their trust in decided to participate when invited to join in the abuse of their son, rather than take action to keep it from happening. It will be a travesty of justice if these two end up walking away from this with a slap on the hand and a limited time in jail. And yet.....who doesn't think this will be the likely outcome? We've all seen the "cute girl sentencing discount" that seems to apply to attractive female sex offenders. In this case they get two discounts! But perhaps there is hope in that the new judge assigned to the case is female...we shall see....

One thing for sure, there is a lot more to the story of Dufresne and Respess than just this one episode. I liked how the news reports made the point of saying "Dufresne and Respess were friends" prior to the event. (Well....Duh!) You'd have to be a veeeeeeeery close, trusted and intimate friend for a teacher to feel comfortable inviting another teacher to join in on a three-way with an under aged student she was abusing. Me thinks it's very unlikely that this was the only sexual activity Defresne and Respess shared together. They were likely confidants who shared with each other their intimate secrets and their darkest hidden desires. They'd likely established themselves as les-be-friends well before this event. And I'd be willing to bet good money that Respess knew about Defresne's first one-on-one encounter with this kid before it even happened, and that she was waiting by the phone for Defresne's call so she could hear the blow by blow details. We'll likely never know just how far their partners in crime relationship went or who else they may have involved. Lets just hope this was the only high school student represented by the notches on their bed posts.

Some whimsical ponderings.

- Did Dufresne really think this kid would keep quite after the hottest teacher at the school banged him? Well...clearly she's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

- Did Respess (the second hottest teacher in the school) really think this kid COULD keep quite after she joined her friend in mutually abusing of this kid? Two peas in a pod I guess.

- Before it all blew up in their faces, did either of them really think their actions had nothing to do with the students whispering and snickering all around them?

- One wonders just how much Mr. Dufresne knew about the kind of things his wife and Respess were up to, and whether he too may have been a beneficiary of their close friendship.

- Now that Defresne and Respess are no longer teachers, and their boy toy is now at the grand ole wise age of consent (17), the three are free to hook up and boff all they like....hell, invite a few more (17+) football team members over....the more the merrier! Of course, it will have to be at Defresne's house, and not while she's in church or undergoing her intensive mental health treatments.

If I could ask Dufresne and Respess one question, it would be this : Was the damage done to your careers, the hurt and shame you brought to your families, the impact this will have on your kids (Dufresne), the scars you left on this boy's mental and emotional development, and the devastation you caused to not only your school community but the surrounding community as well.....was it all worth the orgasmic pleasures you experienced with this ....boy?

 

To the forum host....thanks for the opportunity to vent....I hope my post wasn't out of line. As a parent of a high school junior (boy) going to a school that recently had it's own case of a female teacher getting it on with a student, this was just really upsetting to me. I feel better now....

Thanks for the reply. FYI - The race of the student was stated in the police report that is linked to most of the news items citing it's release. I didn't think repeating that would be an issue. In hindsight I'd agree the comparison to who he resembles may have been inappropriate. My apologies.

That's the difficult thing people struggle with in cases like this, the conflict of knowing this is reality and that a crime was committed that will negatively impact the victim in a multitude of ways vs. our natural curiosity over a sexual event that involves attractive women and meets the criteria for a fantasy to muse over. So even though we are incensed by the crime, we still have a natural curiosity to dwell over nuances and details that paint a clearer picture of the event and what lead up to it. It's a fine line to walk, and my comments above clearly reflect hopping back and forth across that line. I look at the vulnerabilities of my son who is of the same age, and I feel for this kid and how this will affect him in his development into a well balanced responsible adult, but at the same time the fantasy driven male in me is willing to admit I'd liked to have been in his shoes that night with these two beautiful women. I suppose it reeks of hypocrisy, but I guess it's just the way we are wired.

Sadly, according to the boys grandfather, the kid is feeling responsible for having ruined his teachers careers, their likely having to do time in jail, and how this all affects their families. Assuming his participation was not just consensual, but enthusiastically consensual (as one might expect given the teachers involved) his guilt is understandable. I hope in time he'll grow to understand that the mess these women are in was 100% their doing and that he's in no way responsible for ruining their lives. Those who think this kid wasn't harmed by this event start taking notes....

Backstory.

This is in part what happened.

Respress was the kids teacher last year and they had a very good rapport, nothing overtly flirtatious, sexual, etc. She was a young pretty teacher, so naturally young men tended to flock to her. But she never crossed the line, or even intended to. Dufrense was Respress' mentor in the English Department when she was hired at the school; from there the relationship grew and evolved. The extent of the relationship, well, that's their personal business. Respress had people over at her apartment a few times prior to the incident, as she had just moved in. Dufrense was over a couple of times for drinks, etc. It was during Dufrense's visits she confided that her and the student had a very flirtatious relationship ( but in reality Dufrense had already slept with him). Of course Respress knew the student. Respress had an off and on again BF, and dated other men. At 24 to sleep with a high school student was beyond anything in her mind. Dufrense and the student knew each other two weeks before the relationship turned sexual.

By the time Dufresne confided in Respress of the relationship, she had slept with the student twice in her home. Dufrense used an APP on her phone called Textfree to keep her conversations private. The week of her birthday, Dufrense told Respress she wanted to party down for her birthday night and if they should have people at her apartment on that Friday night. Dufrense would later tell Respress she was brining the student over and she was not sure if it would be a good idea to have some of Respress older friends over, because he was obviously a student and a minor. Dufrense asked her if they could all drink and crash at her apartment. Respress agreed. Dufrense then began to inquire to Dufrense, if they all got drunk, then, who knows what might happen. They went back and fourth texting. Repsress knew that Dufrense and the student would be having sex at her apartment ( thats why she told the police she knew Dufrense was brining the student over for sex).But as far as a threesome, she never agreed to it before Dufrense brought the student over. The student meets Dufrense at a shopping center and drives him to Resprets apartment. They all drink, get buzzed, tipsy. They are all in the living room when Dufrense and the student start making out' subsequently, Dufrense invokes Respress into sexual acts involving her and the student. There is no video, as much as it has been reported. Those are all rumors, etc. The student had vidoes of him with other girls, but none with the teachers. Dufrense and Respress are pretty arrogant in their ways, but they were not stupid enough to let the student take video. After their encounter they fell asleep and woke up early, thats why the police report siad it lasted until 9am.

How the story broke goes like this. The student told a couple of friends, the friends started talking and it got back to the students GF. She goes through his phone and sees the texts. She freaks the (expletive deleted) out. She tells her friends and within a day its everywhere. The student texts Dufrense and She freaks the (expletive deleted) out. She texts Respress and of course she starts crying. Dufrense confides in her dad, who has her check into a mental
health facility, but was evaluated and not admitted to the facility. Dufrense is told to break off all contact with the student, Respress. Respress is to scared to tell her parents and does not know what to do. By Sunday night of that weekend both Respress and Dufrense have been called by the school and told them they are under suspension for improper conduct, nothing else. The next afternoon an attorney for Dufrense is owrking with law enforcement. But Respress has no attorney and still has not told her family. Dufrense is not cooperating with the investigation, other then will tuen herself in if aksed to. Respress on the other hand, comes in and is interviewed. Respress cried during the entire interview. End of that.

From what I have been told, there will be no plea deal offered that does not come with multiple years in prison for both of them. There have been cases were teachers recieved no jail time, but there have been others where they recieved multipl years in prison. Dufrense, because of her multiple encounters with the student is really looking at 7 to 10 years in prison, and since its a sex offense, early release or parole is very unlikely.

Why this happened? Well, it's nothing new. There are a lot of attractive teachers who seduce students. Do a google images search, your jaw will drop. But the whole threesome aspect here seems to really made this a scandalous episode. It's obvious to see that Dufrense was able to get Respress to join in on her escapades. Why was Dufrense so captivated by the student, will, thats her issue to deal with. Bored marriage life, maybe she was abused as a child and abusing is her way of dealing with it. To risk your career, embaress your family, children, for sex with a student, I mean, there has to be some narsassestic tendencies there.

Destrehan High School teachers Shelley Dufresne and Rachel Respess were drinking alcohol on the night they engaged in group sex with a 16-year-old student, according to records released Thursday by the Kenner Police Department. That was on Sept. 12, Dufresne's 32nd birthday, according to the documents ... The report indicates that the women consumed alcohol but doesn't say how much or what kind.​

Judges recuse themselves in Destrehan sex scandal case

All three state judges in St. Charles Parish have recused themselves from the Destrehan High School teacher sex scandal. As a result, an ad hoc judge was chosen by the Louisiana Supreme Court to handle the proceedings .. Judge Emile St. Pierre had to step aside because he's the father of [Shelley] Dufresne.​

Anne Lennan Simon of the 16th Judicial District will preside in Shelley Dufresne's case. The high court Wednesday tapped Anne Lennan Simon of the 16th Judicial District, which covers Iberia, St. Mary and St. Martin parishes, to oversee Shelley Dufresne's case. Dufresne, 32, is the daughter of Emile St. Pierre, a judge for St. Charles Parish's 29th Judicial District. St. Pierre and the district's two other judges — Lauren Lemmon and Michele Morel — stepped away from the case, citing that relationship.

"He didn't expect it would come to this." -- Unless you've been living under a rock, anyone with half a brain today knows what happens such activities become known. The bottom line is that gentlemen don't tell, and most 16-year-olds don't qualify as gentlemen.

Also note the misplaced blame: "His bragging has ruined the promising careers of two teachers." Shelley St. Pierre Dufresne & Rachel Alyse Respess ruined their own careers. The victim's bragging just helped to catch them.
