Members of the DEA Task Force and Billings Police Department's Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the Billings residence at 5:50 a.m. on Jan 16.0

    A Ben Steele Middle School teacher was arrested and charged with a felony after police allegedly found meth in his home on Thursday. Shawn Fritzler, 43, is accused of having meth and drug paraphernalia, including a notebook with "writing regarding drug sales," in a residence he shares with two other men. He faces charges of felony drug possession and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The men were not charged with distribution.     Two former Billings Public School teachers make first appearance in court on drug charges

    Two former Billings Public School teachers made their first appearance in court today on drug charges. Shawn Fritzler and Mark Kramlich are each charged with two counts: criminal possession of dangerous drugs -- a felony -- and criminal possession of drug paraphernalia -- a misdemeanor. Fritzler and Kramlich both pled not guilty.

    Former Billings teacher sentenced on drug charges


    Mark Jules Kramlich:

    One of two former Billings Public School teachers was sentenced on drug charges in Yellowstone County District Court Friday. Mark Jules Kramlich is a former teacher who was dismissed from Billings Public Schools prior to his arrest. In court on Friday, Kramlich received a sentence of five years deferred and a $500 fine on a felony count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs. Judge Ashley Harada presided.     Kramlich and another former middle school teacher, Shawn Fritzler, were arrested in January of 2020 after the Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force executed a search at their home. Fritzler is scheduled for trial on June 22, 2021.
