On March 4, 2013, the Alvarado Police Department was alerted by AISD school official’s that an accusation had been made that an employee of the school district had been involved in a sexual relationship with an AISD student. AISD immediately placed this employee on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. AISD officials also immediately began working with Alvarado Police Department Investigators in an effort to substantiate these claims. On March 7, 2013, Detective Sergeant Doss collected physical evidence in the form of photographs of this reported encounter. Interviews were also conducted with the two victims who confirmed the relationship with the AISD employee. These victims were 17 years old at the time of the encounter and one victim is a current student at AISD. On March 8, 2013, based on the information collected, an arrest warrant was issued for the AISD employee. This employee was identified as: Cameron Mitchell, a 27 year-old female. Mitchell was subsequently arrested by APD Investigators on March 8, 2013 in Hillsboro. She was then transported and booked into the Johnson County Jail on an arrest warrant for Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student.
