    Deputies have arrested a Winter Haven second-grade teacher and her boyfriend on charges of burglary and dealing in stolen property. According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, 42-year-old Amy Alvarado, a teacher at Eastside Elementary School, drove her boyfriend, Brian Fideau, 30, to the area of Troon Court SE in Winter Haven around 10 a.m. Tuesday. Fideau got out of the front passenger seat, ran into an open garage and stole a golf bag filled with clubs valued at more than $2,500, deputies said.

    Fideau, 30, both of Winter Haven, were arrested Tuesday by Polk County sheriff's deputies. Investigators said the couple were driving in the area of Troon Court on Monday when Fideau got out of the vehicle and stole a set of $2,500 golf clubs from an open garage ... Neighbors who witnessed the theft called police and described the Cadillac the suspects were driving. Later in the day, police stopped a vehicle matching the description and took the suspects into custody for questioning.

    According to the sheriff's office, Amy Alvarado drove her boyfriend to the area of Troon Court SE in Winter Haven. The boyfriend, identified by deputies as Brian Fideau got out of the front passenger seat, ran into an open garage, and stole a golf bag filled with clubs valued at over $2,500. After taking the clubs, deputies say, Fideau put them into the car and Amy drove away. Amy's adult son Gerson and a friend of his were also in the car at the time, deputies said.

    A Polk County teacher -- along with her boyfriend, son and his friend -- are in jail Wednesday after police say they stole golf clubs from a home's garage. Authorities say on Tuesday morning, 42-year-old Amy Alvarado drove her boyfriend, 30-year-old Brian Fideau, to Troon Court SE and stole a golf bag filled with clubs valued at over $2,500 from a home's open garage. Alvarado's adult son, Gerson, and his friend, Marlon Arrindell, were also in the car at the time of the theft.

    According to deputies, Amy Alvarado, 42, a teacher at Eastside Elementary School in Haines City, drove to the house with her boyfriend, 30-year-old Brian Fideau of Winter Haven. Fideau left the car, ran into the open garage and stole the golf bag and clubs valued at more than $2,500, deputies say. Alvarado and Fideau then drove away ... Alvarado, of Winter Haven, told deputies that after stealing the clubs, she and Fideau went to several pawn shops in an attempt to sell them. She said she signed a form stating she owned the clubs and sold them to Play It Again Sports in Winter Haven for $180, deputies say. The clubs were later located at the store.

Alvarado was arrested and charged with Burglary To A Dwelling, Grand Theft, Dealing in Stolen Property and False Verification to a Pawn Broker. Fideau was also charged. Alvarado's adult son, who is on probation, was in the car during the theft and was also arrested along with another passenger.

The stolen clubs were recovered by deputies at Play It Again Sports, and Alvarado was placed under arrest. It wasn’t her first arrest, Eleazer noted. Alvarado was also arrested last July 2012 on a failure to appear in court charge based on an earlier arrest for driving a motor vehicle after her license has been suspended or revoked.
