A female school employee in Pahrump was arrested Friday for engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student, Nye County Sheriff’s officials said. Amanda McGough, 31, worked as a substitute teacher and administrative aide at Pahrump Valley High and Rosemary Clark Middle School and had been involved with the student since April, officials said. Officials said the investigation began on Friday when the student-teacher relationship was brought to the attention of Nye County Sheriff’s officials. McGough admitted to the relationship when she was questioned about it, officials said.

The Nye County Sheriff's Office opened an investigation into Amanda McGough, 31, an aide at Pahrump Valley High School and Rosemary Clark Middle School, earlier in the day. McGough admitted to the relationship when questioned by officers, according a press release from the sheriff's office. She said the relationship with the Pahrump Valley student started no later than April. None of the sexual encounters happened on campus, the release stated ... McGough was booked into the Nye County Detention Center on multiple charges and held on $12,500 bail.

A Pahrump Valley High School and Rosemary Clark Middle School substitute teacher and administrative aide is under arrest after she admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student ... The sheriff's office began an investigation on Friday after officers received information about the teacher. McGough admitted to the allegations and informed officers that she had been involved with the 16-year-old student since April. During the investigation, officers found evidence that McGough sent sexually explicit photos of herself via email. Police say she enticed the male student to return photos back to her. Police say, in a news release, that there is no evidence that the encounters took place at school. McGough told investigators that the encounters took place in a vehicle in public areas ... McGough has been booked at the Nye County Detention Center in Pahrump with a bail set at $12,500. Nye County Sheriff's deputies Friday arrested a Pahrump substitute teacher/administrative aide for having sex with a 16-year-old student. The sub teacher, 31-year-old Amanda McGough of Pahrump, is employed at Pahrump Valley High School and Rosemary Clark Middle School. She admitted to police to having had a sexual relationship with the male student since at least the beginning of April of this year. While investigators don't believe the two ever had sex on campus, McGough admitted to having sex with the minor in a vehicle parked in public areas on numerous occasions. McGough also exchanged lewd, sexually explicit photos of herself with the student via email.

A former Nye County School District substitute administrative aide was sentenced to a maximum of five years in prison this week after she admitted to having sex with a 16-year-old student multiple times in 2012. Amanda McGough appeared in District Court Friday morning on a single charge of sexual conduct between certain employees of a school or volunteers at a school and a pupil, a category C felony.
